Moudud Ahmed’s review dismissed; trial proceedings to be continued

The Supreme Court on Sunday dismissed a petition filed by BNP’s standing committee member Moudud Ahmed seeking review of its earlier order.

 

A six-member bench of the Appellate Division, headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, passed this order clearing the way to continue the trial proceedings of a corruption case against the BNP leader filed by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
Lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan stood for the ACC.
On May 14, the apex court upheld the High Court order that cleared the way to continue the trial proceedings against Moudud.
The ACC filed the case with Gulshan Police Station on September 16, 2007, against Moudud on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth over Tk 7crore and concealing information of the wealth worth over Tk 4 crore.
